Portuguese Water Dog In The White House ?

So that how he looks like :)

The Portuguese are very similar to  poodles.Portuguese Water Dogs once existed all along Portugal’s coast, where they were taught to herd fish into fishermen’s nets, to retrieve lost tackle or broken nets, and to act as couriers from ship to ship, or ship to shore (from wikipedia)

Also they are great choice for allergy sufferer, one need to know that they have tons of energy and for that reason they need a lot of exercise. Breeds require a lot of exercise and don’t get it,  some times turn to be aggressive toward other dogs and humans. Each time some dog breed appears in a movie hit (like the 101 Dalmatian dog)  or owned by a celebrity, suddenly there is a big demand for that specific breed and they become over bred, and then thrown to the shelters. Hopefully people will take in consideration what the Portuguese water dog needs are, and whether they can provide it. The shelters have enough dogs and cats looking for adoption.

The Portuguese Water Dog is a fairly rare breed; only 15 entrants for Portuguese Water Dogs were made to  England’s Crufts ( Crufts is an annual international Championship conformation show for dogs organised and hosted by the UK Kennel Club), competition in 2002, although their personality and non-shedding qualities have made them more popular in recent years.

By the way, Ted Kennedy had two Portuguese Water Dogs, you think it has something to do with the Obama’s decision?
